At long last t he sun shone on Whitchurch in early July and a large crowd visited the Parish Fete held at the Lawn thanks, as ever, the Professor and Mrs Denning.
Around 1,000 visitors of all ages enjoyed the event and raised approximately £5,000. Competitions galore, including tests a skill and strength, the duck race, strawberries and cream, plants and cacti, pony rides an barbeque and an island full of children's activities kept everyone busy between the Irish dancing and ladies singing.
Live and recorded music completed the entertainment.
