Following a request from his great friend J R Tolkien, Lewis has agreed to give an informal talk to a group of American writers visiting England
They have come to Lewis' home just outside Oxford and eagerly wait hearing the man who has become a legend in his own lifetime. They are not disappointed. Despite failing health, Lewis is in great form

Families and individuals enjoy a pleasant route which takes easy quiet lanes that are suitable for all. Riders collect answers to a number of simple clues around the course with prizes available at the finish

Whatever you think about art, the workshop will give you an opportunity to explore what it means to be artistic. All materials are supplied, the aim is to give understanding and experience of the fun and freedom of creativity, because everyone is creative
The workshop is open to individuals or groups; is independent of any art group or society; and involves no commitment outside the day
The workshop will be run by Corinne Marsh, whose ability lies in how she communicates her belief and passion. The event is part of the Whitchurch Community Arts Project and is supported by SEEDA, HCC, B&DBC;, Whitchurch Town Council and Working4Whitchur

The 6 week course costs ï¿½55 per person with a maximum of six places on each

John Deveson of the local Christian Aid Committee says that it would be helpful to the volunteer collectors if householders could have their donation ready for them when they call
He also urges taxpayers giving ï¿½2 or more to increase the value of their gifts at no cost by completing the Gift Aid form on the envelope

A production of Murder In The Cathedral by T. S. Eliot will take place in the Parish Church, All Hallows, week commencing Monday 19th October
It will be a totally open production with actors, designers and theatrical support drawn from the whole town. Auditions and casting will take place in late July and early August with the parts being given to the best actors we can find
Being a Community Play we hope to involve all aspects of the local community including schools, businesses, local groups etc and hope as many people as possible will want to play an active part in this one-off event. All profits will go to local hospices

Teams can enter with a maximum of 8 players (2 rolling subs) with an entry fee of ï¿½20. There is a limit of 16 teams for the Tournament, so the earlier the entry, the more chance of getting in!
Entry forms can be collected from The Kings Arms pub in Church. Rules will be given out nearer the date and the draw of teams will take place the week before. Closing date for entry forms is Thursday, 20th August 2009 at 9pm
There will be a BBQ and Refreshments available during the event
A presentation for the winners will take place afterwards at the Kings Arms along with a Raffle and Live Music from ï¿½ACOUSTIXï¿½ - We are looking for volunteer helpers for the BBQ and Refreshments plus any referees/linesman

The event is organised by the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association of Testbourne Community School Whitchurch and the profits made will be used to purchase much needed equipment for the school
