Bus Passes and Travel Tokens

Disabled people and senior citizens (those over 60) living in the area are entitled to either a half-fare bus pass or travel tokens issued by Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council. The plastic travel tokens (with a minimum total value of £50) can be used on local buses, trains and taxis or can be used for to pay for community transport.

You can apply for the bus pass or travel tokens at any time of the year at the Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council’s offices in London Road, Basingstoke. Go to the Payments Hall, which is open from 8.30am -  4pm Monday - Friday.

Your first application must be in person and you need to supply proof of age (for example, medical card, passport or birth certificate) and proof of address (for example a bill for council tax, gas or electricity).

Disability claimants need to show proof of disability by producing evidence of their Hampshire County Council registration card, disability living allowance, war pensioners’ mobility allowance or a letter from their GP.

Stagecoach Buses - Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester

In outline, weekday and Saturday services run to:

Andover (76) - hourly between 8am and 11.40pm Mon-Thu, last bus from Andover leaves at 10.05pm.
Basingstoke (76 & 86) - half hourly between 6.40am and 10.22pm
Winchester (86) - hourly between 7.35am and 10.35pm

On Sundays there are 6 buses between 9.35am and 4.55pm, between Whitchurch, Overton and Basingstoke, the last bus from Basingstoke leaves at 5.40pm

There's one bus to Winchester at 6.13pm

Whitchurch Community Bus

This service operates around Whitchurch and between Whitchurch Town Centre and Dunley, Litchfield, Woodcott and Laverstoke on Tuesday and Friday mornings and afternoons

Cango Bus Hurstbourne Tarrant - Whitchurch Station

This morning and evening service runs between Hurstbourne Tarrant, Stoke, St Mary Bourne and Whitchurch railway station and timed to meet trains to (morning) and from (evening) London. It is a mixture of timed stops (a normal bus service and "bookable" stops.
